In 1967 a new style Rapier made its debut, its body shape being similar to that of the Plymouth Baracuda, betraying its American influence. The 1725cc engine from the previous model, the Rapier V, was retained.
The more sporty H120 model had twin Weber carburettors in place of the twin Strombergs and was available as an alternative from 1969. Also available was the single carburettor basic model which was marketed as a Sunbeam Alpine.
