Volunteers Week 2019
23rd May 2019
Volunteers’ Week takes place every year from 1-7 June and gives businesses and charities across the UK an opportunity to shout about the fantastic contribution volunteers make. With a team of over 79 volunteers supporting roles crucial to the daily running of The Museum, volunteering is truly at the heart of Haynes International Motor Museum.
Volunteer roles include working with our Collections Care, Education, Tours and Talks, Museum Ambassador and Visitor Service Desk teams. We also have a growing team of volunteers who help with our regular and very popular Haynes Breakfast Club mornings.
Not every day is the same, as you can see in this selfie photo taken by Cliff one of our Volunteers here. Cliff managed to snap a selfie with Fifth Gear TV presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson who was filming at the Museum recently.
Volunteer Awards
This month we have been showing our appreciation to some of our most long standing volunteers for their time and invaluable contribution to the Museum. At the recent Staff and Volunteer Meeting the following Volunteers were personally awarded by CEO Chris Haynes with certificates and engraved whisky glasses for 5-25 years’ service:
For 5 years’ service: George Grazebrook, Jeff Wallwork and Peter Farrow
For 10 years’ service: Norman Bishop
For 20 years’ service: Ken Crane
For 25 years’ service: Derek Chant
Join our team
Volunteering can also help you gain valuable new skills and experiences, boost your confidence and help you feel part of a team. We are looking to grow our team further and have volunteering opportunities in both the Gardening and Education teams.
