Volunteer Chris Barker takes a trip down memory lane
With late spring turning to early summer the Museum has seen a spree of group visits over the last two weeks. One visit in particular had an extra special surprise in store for both the visiting group and the Volunteer who was looking after them for the day. On Thursday 27th May a group from the Lynx Wildcat Project team from Westlands visited and they had a tour with Volunteer Chris Barker. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about much of the vehicle collection at the Museum but he was also able to add a new dimension to the tour on this occasion. From 1986 to 1994 he worked at Westlands as the Chief Designer on the Lynx Helicopter which now in its latest guise, after much adaptation and indeed significant re-engineering, is reborn as the Lynx Wildcat.
We also had two care homes visit, with all residents particularly enjoying seeing the Memory Lane exhibition and for many it was their favourite part of the Museum. We are here to help you organise the perfect group visit so if you would like any information please contact us – 01963 442794.
