Kings School Bruton Green Power Challenge
A group of students from Kings School Bruton have recently started a new extra-curricular project called Green Power Challenge. The project is a chance for young people to get real world experience in engineering. It involves building, racing and developing a car. The car itself is a F24 kit car provided by the Green Power to give the students a basic frame to work from.
To help raise funds for the car as the school does not directly fund the project, the students have contacted local businesses to help. This is where the Museum has come in by providing the school the opportunity to use the Test Circuit to check the car by putting it through its paces on the track.
To date the students have made huge leaps forward with the car by completing all the electronics and have put the motor and the axels on to the vehicle. The car is now working and has been tested on the school grounds but the students are looking forward to scrutinising the car to its full capacity, testing the handling and acceleration.
