Haynes International Motor Museum announces two senior appointments
8th Jan 2020
Haynes International Motor Museum is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Scudds as its new Chief Executive Officer. Following approval by the Board of Trustees, Chris Scudds, previously Commercial Director and Deputy CEO, assumed responsibility as CEO in December. He succeeds Christopher Haynes, who steps aside and assumes the role of Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to allow him to concentrate on other business interests.
The Haynes International Motor Museum was founded in 1985 by the creator of the famous Haynes Manuals, the late John Harold Haynes OBE. Today it is not only a globally renowned Motor Museum, but also operates several highly successful commercial businesses in support of the charity: It is one of the South West’s premier conference and event venues and also operates an internationally recognised classic car Workshop & Restoration Centre. These associated businesses generate a significant contribution towards the funds needed to support the Museum’s charitable aims.
Following a career in the Army as a helicopter pilot, Chris Scudds held several senior positions in the international events and hospitality sector before joining the Museum team in 2014. He has an MBA from the University of Southampton and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI).
Speaking about his new position, Chris Scudds commented:
“I feel very privileged to be taking up the role of CEO of this dynamic organisation and working with such a talented and energetic team, across all departments. I am looking forward to helping the Museum rise to the exciting challenges of the next decade, building upon the incredible work of both Chris and Marc Haynes.”
Chairman Christopher Haynes echoed these sentiments:
“This is an extremely exciting period in the history of the Haynes International Motor Museum. We have ambitious plans for the future and I have every confidence in Chris Scudds to provide the executive leadership to fulfil them. I feel very proud and honoured to succeed my father John Haynes as Chairman and to have the opportunity through this role to build on his tremendous achievements in his memory.”
