Ferrari 512BB restoration
28th Oct 2016
The Museum Ferrari 512bb has been suffering for a while with excessive blue smoking on start up. The Haynes Workshop and restoration Centre technicians investigated the faults and on examination of the cylinder bores with a fibre optic camera found what looked like excessive wear to the cylinder liners. There were signs of scoring and some pitting on the bores which meant the engine has to come out and rebuilt. While the engine is removed we will carry out a restoration of the engine bay back to how the car came out of the factory. Simon our ex-Ferrari technician will be one of the people carrying out the work required to this car.
