CEO Renews Commitment to Education with Free Educational Offering at the Museum
Chris Haynes, CEO of the Haynes International Motor Museum recently announced on BBC Radio Somerset his plans to make the Museum’s educational offering more accessible to schools. The Museum’s Education Department have been aware for some time that high transport costs involved with school trips have meant that in some cases schools have been unable to afford to go on these trips. Chris Haynes commented: “Whilst we cannot do anything about the cost of transport we can help out by offering some of our educational experiences free of charge”.
Therefore, for the 2016 / 17 academic year the Museum is delighted to announce that they are able to offer education visits to school groups aged 4 – 13 years, free of charge. These visits will include:
- Use of the Education Centre and facilities
- Education folders and books
- A guided tour tailored to the specific learning objectives of the group
- Use of the Education Centre for lunch, where an appropriate DVD can be played
- Use of children’s library with age appropriate educational toys
- Visits are subject to minimum group sizes etc.
“We have a dedicated team who work out of a modern and purpose built, light and airy Education Centre” says Caroline Coombes, Education Officer, “We focus on delivering engaging, informative education in a fun and inspirational way so that, whether our students are four, fourteen or indeed adults, they leave all the richer for the experience”.
