Back to the traditional favourites at Haynes International Motor Museum in celebration of British Sandwich Week
British Sandwich Week 14th – 20th May 2017 was a week-long celebration of the greatest food to go and quite possibly the most iconic British culinary invention, the sandwich. The great British sandwich is such a central item in the British psyche and culture that it has more different names for it than Eskimos do for snow! From sarnies, butties and barms to baps, baguettes and sangas, everywhere you go there is a local term for this icon. Ever since John Montague, the 4th Earl of Sandwich ordered cold beef between slices of toast, to avoid getting up from his cards game, his name has become synonymous with the delectable dish.
Haynes International Motor Museum’s Café 750 celebrated this iconic British invention by offering some of the best of British traditional sandwich favourites; including Corn Beef and Pickle, Coronation Chicken, Red Salmon and Cucumber and of course, Egg and Cress. Also on offer was a range of the favourites from the varied café sandwich selection on a daily basis.
Why not call into Café 750 and enjoy the greatest ‘food to go’ ever invented. With comfortable seating and a great setting you are guaranteed to be left full and content!
