Tickets are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend on the day your ticket has been booked, please call us on 01963 440804 and we can change the date of your booking for you.

We encourage you to pre-book your tickets, especially during peak times such as school holidays. If you pre-book your ticket by midnight the day before your planned visit, you will save 10%.

Visitors who require a carer to facilitate their visit will be given a free carer’s day ticket on the day of your visit. Please be aware the reception staff may ask you/them to present proof of eligibility. For full information, please refer to our Access Statement.

If you're a registered UK taxpayer we can claim 25p for every £1 spent on Museum entry and it goes towards preserving our historic collection. Please help us when buying your tickets. It costs you nothing extra.

This refers to our Annual Pass. It allows unlimited access for 12 months from the date of the first issue, at times when the Museum is normally open to the public.

The ticket is non-transferable, you may be asked for proof of identity when using the re-admission ticket on a return visit.

Your details are only passed onto HM Revenue and Customs and only for the purpose of Gift Aid admission. You may receive emails from us if you are signed up to our Marketing emails.

This is because we are a charity and your payment will give you and your family entry to the Museum for a year.

Only Assistance Dogs are allowed within the Museum. Pet dogs are not allowed in the Museum, however, they are allowed outside access at the front and rear of the Museum.

You are welcome to take photographs during your visit which are taken for your personal use.  Commercial photography is not permitted without prior arrangement, please contact us on 01963 440804 to find out more. Please feel free to share your photographs on social media and tag us in your posts.

There is an outside area which can be used for picnics. Please note that the Café seating area will only be available for Café customers as there is limited seating available.

We have a drop-off points at the front and side of the Museum. Coaches and minibuses should be parked in the car park at the rear of the Museum.

Groups usually arrive between 9:30am and 10am and leave around 2pm. If you’re coming from further away we can look at alternative start times and flex to your needs. The Museum is open from 10am and closes at 5:30pm from April to September, 4:30pm from October to the end of March.

Our Education Centre will be your base for the day. Here you can leave bags, have a break, and eat your lunch. There’s also a toilet here too. This space is away from other Museum visitors, but we cannot guarantee that it will be secured, therefore we recommend that valuables are not left in the area.

Café 750 is open from 10am to 4.30pm and sells drinks, sandwiches, pasties and cakes so perfect for a light lunch. If you’d like to use Café 750, please let us know during the booking process.

The Museum has a large gift shop including many gifts for under £5. Please let us know if you would like a shop visit timetabled into your trip.

Photography is allowed in the Museum, but are permitted only for personal, non-commercial use. We won't take any photographs of you or your students unless you have agreed this as part of your visit.

Once the booking is confirmed, cancellations will incur a charge of 50% of the cost of the booking to cover our costs in resourcing activities. Contact the Education Team if you wish to cancel your visit.

We strongly recommend that you organise a visit to the Museum in advance of your trip to familiarise yourself and undertake any assessments. Visits are free for members of staff that will be accompanying the group on the day. Normal admission charges apply for family members or guests. Please let us know if you’d like to visit in advance during the booking process.

The Museum is quite large and can be overwhelming for some pupils/students. We’ll give everyone a warm welcome and assure them that we’ll be looking after them with their teachers and adult helpers throughout the day.

We’re happy to invoice your group after your visit. Please let us have the contact details for your finance or admin team during the booking process. We also accept payment by cash, cheque, and credit/debit cards on the day.
