John Haynes: The Man & The Manuals
This exhibition delves into the story of the Museum's founder, John H Haynes OBE, and features cars such as a 1931 Austin Seven Special and 1959 Austin Healey Sprite Mk 1.
The story begins in 1954, with John Haynes, then still at school, rebuilding the wreck of an Austin 7 into a '750 Special'. He went on to write a small booklet detailing the project, which sold out rapidly.
Years later, John produced the first proper manual on the Austin Healey Sprite.
Photos shown: 1931 Austin 750 Special, 1959 Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 and the whole exhibition space.
