Now the engine is out Haynes Workshop have removed the cylinder heads to reveal what we had suspected, all 12 cylinder liners are badly worn and need to be replaced.  We stripped down the block, by removing it from the gearbox, removing all the con-rods and pistons, and finally removing the cylinder liners.  Works have now started for the long job of measuring everything to investigate if the engine has any other signs of wear.
