How We're Funded

As a registered charity (charity number 1176857), we rely on the wonderful support of our visitors and community to fund our work. Every visit to the Museum, cup of coffee at Café 750, or item purchased from our Shop helps us preserve, restore, and share the incredible history of motoring with future generations.

We also take part in the Government’s Gift Aid scheme. For visitors who agree to Gift Aid their tickets, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 spent from UK taxpayers — at no extra cost to our visitors. This provides vital support for our charitable activities.

In addition to the Museum, we operate a trading company, which includes Haynes Heritage Engineering, our classic car restoration workshop as well as our conference and event facilities, Café 750, and the Museum Shop. All profits from these ventures are reinvested to support our charitable aims.

We submit an annual report to the Charity Commission which is publicly available via their website.

To achieve our charitable objectives, we are pursuing an ambitious long-term strategy focused on redeveloping our exhibitions and expanding our educational outreach. As part of this effort, we are strengthening our partnerships and enhancing our fundraising activities through grant funding, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and legacy giving. To lead these initiatives, we are excited to have recently welcomed Michelle Kirwan as our new Development Director.

Your support is crucial to everything we do. If you’d like to get involved or donate, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact michelle.kirwan@haynesmuseum.org
