Support Us
As an independent charity, all proceeds go towards supporting our efforts to educate people about the past, present and future of the motor vehicle. This involves conserving, preserving and enabling access to our collection for current and future generations.
Our Charitable Objectives
-
Learning
We have a culture of learning, and our on-site learning programme welcomes over 1,500 learners of all ages to the Museum a year. We offer these educational visits at significantly reduced prices to make sure as many schools as possible are able to visit. We also support university projects to carry out research.
-
Looking After The Collection
We look after over 300 cars and motorcycles, 2,000 small objects and 10,000 books, magazines and archival documents in the Collection by carrying out activities that prevent deterioration and through interventive conservation projects.
-
New Exhibitions
We are in the process of redeveloping our permanent exhibitions while also developing a series of temporary exhibitions. This means we’re always working on at least one exhibition. Each exhibition involves considerable time to prepare and install, both for our staff and for contractors. For example, our Life on Two Wheels exhibition took a total of 1,982 staff hours to complete.
How to Support Us
Every contribution helps us achieve our charitable goals. Whether it’s purchasing an entry ticket, enjoying a coffee at our Café, or attending one of our fundraising events like the Breakfast Club, all proceeds go directly towards supporting our mission. You can also make a difference through individual donations, ensuring the continued success of our efforts to educate, preserve, and inspire.

Gift Aid
We're a registered charity. If you're a registered UK taxpayer we can claim 25p for every £1 spent on Museum entry and it goes towards preserving our historic collection. Please help us when buying your tickets. It costs you nothing extra.
Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future
We are committed to making our collection accessible to as many people as possible, providing opportunities for learning, exploration, and engagement. This includes maintaining high standards of care for our artifacts, creating immersive and educational exhibitions, and developing programs that connect audiences with the rich heritage and innovative future of motor vehicle technology.
By investing in these initiatives, we aim to ignite curiosity, foster understanding, and inspire future innovators, while safeguarding an invaluable part of our shared cultural and technological history. All funds generated directly contribute to these endeavours, ensuring that our work has a lasting impact on current and future generations.
