Tickets Go on Sale for Inaugural John Haynes Classic Motor Show
18th Feb 2025
Tickets are now available for the highly anticipated John Haynes Classic motor show, set to take place on Sunday, 7th September 2025 at Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset. This inaugural event marks 40 years since John Haynes OBE founded Haynes Motor Museum in July 1985 and will celebrate his passion for the motor vehicle.
Spread across five outdoor zones surrounding the Museum, the show will provide a full day of displays, demonstrations, talks and activities. At the heart of the show will be the Haynes Manual Display, featuring vehicles encapsulated by the world-famous Haynes workshop manuals. This display will celebrate John Haynes's unique ability to explain complex engineering in a logical and easy to follow way, using the manuals to communicate cars and motorcycles in a way that is accessible to all.
The Museum is looking for owners of vehicles linked to the Haynes Manuals with their own interesting stories to exhibit alongside other iconic cars and motorcycles which have been featured in a manual - whether it’s a personal connection, mechanical challenges they’ve faced or the journeys they’ve been on.
As part of the display, a selection of the Museum’s own vehicles will be showcased alongside guest exhibits. Among them is the Museum’s 1971 Ford Escort Mexico which has been part of the collection for over 35 years, alongside the 1965 ‘Project 50’ Mustang and the 2001 Citroën Saxo Max Power, both of which played a key role in the creation of their respective Haynes Manuals.

Chris Scudds, CEO at Haynes Motor Museum says, “Since we announced the show late last year, we’ve been amazed by the huge amount of interest shown by car and motorcycle clubs eager to attend the event as well as show visitors wanting to secure tickets for the event.
This is going to be a very special day and quite rightly so, as it honours and celebrates John’s legacy and his passion for the motor vehicle. I’m super excited to hear all the wonderful manual related stories people have and cannot wait for them to be shared on the day. With the other four zones as well, this is going to be an unmissable show!”
Other show highlights will include the Car and Motorcycle Club Arena which will provide a spectacular backdrop, featuring hundreds of veteran, vintage and classic cars and motorcycles, creating a stunning display.
The Live Show Paddock will be full of captivating talks, lively debates, and a special vehicle parade that brings the Haynes Manuals to life.
The Discovery Zone will offer a dynamic mix of hands-on workshops, engaging demonstrations, and interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), activities, sparking curiosity in adults and children alike.
Finally, the Market will showcase a carefully curated selection of locally sourced food, drink, and crafts from talented regional artisans alongside automotive exhibitor stands featuring products, services, and collectables for vintage, classic, and modern vehicles.
As an Arts Council England accredited Museum and charity, the John Haynes Classic is a fundraising event. Proceeds generated will support the Museum’s ongoing charitable aims of delivering learning activities, inspiring future generations as well as conserving and preserving its motoring heritage collection.
